Pugly? Not to me :)

This post is for Jen who wants a dog, well not just any dog but a great dog, a pug.

My Dad had a business partner in who lived in West Virgina. Our family went up there to visit him and his wife one summer, when I was about 10 years old. I don't remember much about the people, the state or what we did but what I do remember was their dog. He was a very adorable, smart and energetic pug. His name was Mr. Bojangles.

From the moment we arrived the dog had our totally undivided attention with his personality and clever tricks. So much so that my brother, sister and myself cried when it was time to go because we had grown so attached to him. Even after five years I still felt sorrow when I learned of his death. Many times while looking for a dog I thought of getting a pug but I never did because I knew there would never be another Mr. Bojangles.

I hope you get your pug Jen :) they are great dogs.

Aren't animals fantastic. When I come 'home' Aunt Silly's cats are always there to say hello. It always makes a bad day good again. :)

Awww. That's a sweet story!
There won't ever be another Mr. Bojangles but I'll make sure the pug I get is damn cool too.
(If I ever get one *crosses fingers*)

I never been into pugs. More of a cat person. Having said that if I ever got a dog I would have to get a St Bernards - I love Big Big dogs!

I would get Chocolate labs, two of them.
The wife who worked at the OSPCA for years is telling me to just go find some mutts that need a home, I think that would probably be the best thing to do.

I've had a lot of dogs in my life and mutts by far have been the best. (and the ugliest)

The last dog we had was a Newfoundland. She was a heffer. I'm ready for a little dog.
I want someone I can take one car trips with me and not have to worry about the weight limit in the van. ;)

Jen, you have to get a Pug, to hold and hug and lub.
To watch him grow and play all day,
to be with you in every way.
A corny poem to show that you, must get the doggy you find true.
A Pug, a Pug for you to lub.
A Pug, a Pug to be your bud.

How's that Robert Frost?

A good poem HB but I don't think Mr. Frost has anything to worry about. Sorry :(
