Just doing my duty

It's that time of year again. The time of year when I find green boxes of cookies strategical placed everywhere I'm at. Not just any cookie either, delicious Thin Mints. These are those crispy thin wafer cookies, covered in a thin layer of creamy chocolate with just the right hint of mint. They're not messy and just the right size. Even the way they're packaged attracts me to them. All rolled up nice and neat in sleeves of chocolate delight. Damn they're good!

To say I love them might be going a little too far. After all there are laws against that sort of thing in most states. I know they are bad for me, still I can't resist them. Even if I did have the will power to deny myself their sweet tooth killing satisfaction, where I come from you have to eat them. I'm serious, you have to.
They are sold by Girl Scouts which is enough to guilt you into buying them by the truck load. Worse than that I grew up in and still live near Savannah, Georgia. Which, for those who don't know, is the birth place of the Girl Scouts. So you see, I really have no choice but to eat as many as I can, as often as I can. It's the least I can do. It is my civic duty, I shall do it well, for the Scouts of course.

:) LOL! maybe you can sell cookies for the girl scouts to feel a little better about it?

This reminds me of an episode of Friends.

Ross: No, hi, I-I'm an honorary Brown Bird.

Woman: What does that mean?

Ross: Uh, well, it means that I can sell cookies, but I'm not invited to sleep-overs.

Monica: Alright, I'll take one box of the mint treasures; one, and that's it. I-I started gaining weight after I joined the Brown Birds. Remember, Dad bought every one of my boxes and I ate them all?

Ross: Uh, no Mon. Dad had to buy every one of your boxes because you ate them all.

LOL! I forgot about that episode.

I'm doing my part just eating them. I'm on my third box :o

I added a picture of my desk showing just how close a box is to me at all times.

Blargh. I hate Thin Mints.
Every year I watch my family buy them, and every year I'm disappointed there are no Samoas (Caramel delites.)
Those are soooo good. *drool*

Here I am with no girl scout cookies again this year.
*sniff*

Nobody hates Thin Mints do they? Don't say that out loud, at least not around here.

Right after I read this post, I headed out to work to find an entire counter full with Girl Scout cookies. Thin Mint was definitely heavy, but out of all those boxes, I didn't get one freakin' Caramel Delight!! Not one.

And yeah, I HATE THIN MINTS. (Mint makes me really sick to my stomach most of the time, and thin mints are the worst for that!)
Blargh.

I'm gonna have to agree with Jen on this one! SAMOAS ARE THE WAY TO GO.

Mint and chocolate just don't belong together. They are incompatible. Yuck. Whenever there's a complimentary chocolate mint offered some place, I feel like it's the universe's way of telling me that I'm getting chunky and I need to cut down.
