The cat's an antidote. My stomach lurched, too. I still looked them all, though. LOL
That's intense but not as bad as I was afraid it might be. You lost the nail, but be prepared to lose some flesh around the area too. I won't regale you with the laundry list of things to do/not do with it. Just cause I like you... ;)

The real problem now is my overwhelming urge to finish the tree house. Must.finish.tree.house.

Ugly wound... but not as bad as I expected. And Jen is right... you can see that the flesh is already starting to die around it. You already know how I feel about it and if you want to save part of your flesh and some of your nerve damage, you'll seek the only thing that can help at this point.
But I know you won't. Grr, you! GRRRR!
Now go finish your tree house, silly. Sheesh!

I wish it was my good move not to work on the tree house but it's not. Unfortunately, when shaking hands with a customer the other day my finger tip exploded in area that wasn't even cut. Of course The Wife blamed me for doing too much with it so I've been banned (yes banned) from doing anything requiring the use of my right hand until it stops bleeding, which may be never. Again, this is so ridiculous!
I agree with you Daughter... grrr, grrr, grrr!
Looks pretty nasty alright. I wouldn't want it to happen to me. Looks like infection is the biggest problem from now on. I'm sure you'll get through it and the tree house will get done soon.

Jen and Daughter were right. I'm losing a fair amount of skin. I use it now but you don't realize how many times you hit your finger until you don't have a fingernail to protect it, grrrr. More x-rays in two weeks, although I don't know why. What could they do at this point? The loss of feeling is interesting. It's like my finger is asleep all the time.
I'm sure you've seen much, much, much worse ;)
