Living up to expectations, a broken promise.... damn
As a child I was what people called accident prone. Not because I did things to hurt myself but because I always managed to get hurt. No lie, I once had to get twelve stitches from pillow fighting. While it was rarely my fault, I got a reputation with my family for it. So much so my aunts wouldn't let me spend the night at their houses because "something" might happen.
Tomorrow, with any luck, I'll be going to see a hand specialist who will hopefully do something with this damn finger. This whole situation is ridiculous. One finger has brought my life to a screeching ass halt. damn.

Oh my god!!! WTF? That sounds more serious than you're letting on! How long will you be off work?
but wow, a tree house :) it looks like it's going to be amazing when it's done.
I was just saying to CharlieChalk the other day that he should build his sons a tree house so when they grow up they can start stories with 'when i was in my treehouse ...' :)
Ouch!!
Sounds horrible!!
:(
*hug*
Open fracture wounds aren't anything to mess with. They can get nasty at the drop of a... well, drop of a drill. ;-|
Keep us posted. I'm interested.
I wish I lived closer...
awww... now look, your bleeding all over the keyboard!
I cant imagine what the pain must have been like. Hard luck man, you'll get it finished for Christmas I'm sure.
TT: I'm at work :) although The Wife is a little pissed I came in.
no worries, I'll know more once I see the hand surgeon. Not having my right hand SUCKS!!!!
The kids are almost as excited as me about the tree house. We are going to sleep in it one night when it's done :)
Jen: Ha! I don't think it's a big deal but I'm being cautious. It's just a finger but it is attached to a hand that I'm fond of.
Darren: It is still bleeding :)
Not as much pain as you would think. Doc said the nerves are probably gone. I would have gone back out and floored the thing but The Wife wouldn't let me. By Christmas for sure :D
Oh, Jeez! Look on the bright side: unlike your Dad, you not only tried to fulfill your promise, you started the job.
My brother and I built a cottage over the last two summers and I'm still utterly amazed that our only injury was my badly sprained ankle. :-)
Okay, yuck.
That said, YUCK.
Now that I have that out of my system, get thyself to an HBOT chamber!!!
One-in-a-million shot, indeed. I am so sorry about your hand and I hope you get some good news form the hand surgeon tomorrow. Keep us posted - my cousin is an occupational therapist that specializes in hand rehabilitation - maybe it'll give you and the family an excuse to come to California!
Gordo: The kids seem to understand, at least as long as they can see bandages and blood :)
The cottage sounds like a lot of fun. Are there any pictures of it on your blog? Since I was doing this project alone I halfway expected something to happen. I just didn't figure it would be, The Ladder... under the tree... with a drill :)
Daughter: Thanks, depending on what the doctor says I'll check out the HBOT therapy. Believe me, if I could squeeze a trip to California out of this, I would :D
RT, I'm a bit late to the party, but I just wanted to add my heartfelt ouchies too, sounds dreadful. Sending good vibes that it heals super quickly.
Thanks Lou :)
Loads of pictures, yep: http://blog.cruachan.ca/category/Simcoe/
The past two summers. It's taken longer than we expected/wanted and we're both pretty sick of it at the moment. LOL
