15 Years Ago Today....

Today is my fifteen year wedding anniversary.

Fifteen years ago today I married the love of my life. After six years of being together we knew that we wanted to be together forever. While marriage has thrown us more than a few surprises and tested our understanding of love, I would gladly take my vows again today. We have literally grown up together, going from teenagers, to young adults, to the adults we are today. I'm looking forward to many happy and exciting tomorrows. We have been truly blessed.

Happy Anniversary. :) well done.

I love the way you have to stand on a step to reach her on the first photo.

Daughter and HB: Thanks, time is an amazing thing. When we were younger we were full of hopes and dreams. Now we are living our dreams, just not the ones we thought we would. It's the twist and turns of life that has brought us closer together. Who would have thought that?

20 Something: har, har, har, I'll have you know she wore slippers that day so I was at least 4 inches taller than her.

A short joke about my wedding photo... never saw it coming :|

Darren: You're a tit. There I said it. :)

Jen : Thanks, those legs are for me and as I think I've stated before, I don't share well. lol

Victory is mine!

4 inches is never enough. :)) show us your butt.

Jen: You're funny ;)

Darren: take your victory lap, I'm sure it won't be the last. :)

20 Something: lol, I liked it better when we were talking about 10' poles :p

I don't have any pictures of my butt. And no, it's not because we don't own a wide angle lens, grrr!

that should do it.

HAHA! I just noticed. Yor wedding cake has a weight lifter on it!

David said...

I have a nice camera, that's not the problem >:( As I said, if one comes up I'll post it.

Ha! yes, back in 1992 lifting was a big part of my life. It actually became a problem before the wedding. I had an unexpected growth spurt a month before the wedding and I couldn't fit into my tuxedo. The wife to be didn't want me to have to wear a bigger jacket, (as I am short, grrr!) so she BANNED me from getting any bigger. In fact she incorporated my lifting partners into keeping from lifting heavy weight. I don't think I've ever forgiven her for that.

:-)

That was the grooms cake. You know the one put off in the corner, away from the big, white brides cake.

I didn't realise you were short :)

So what did you do to celebrate your anniversary? Please do not say 'Nothing'.

David said...

First of all that camera is ridiculously too big! (insert butt joke here) :)

What did I do for my anniversary? Nada... yet. My oldest son had soccer (football) practice and the wife has volunteered me to help coach. Not really my cup of tea but it was fun. When I got home she had a small replica of a wedding cake waiting and the kids helped her decorate some. I'm pretty sure all they wanted was some cake. She gave me a present, a nice wedding band. This is my third one, as I have managed to lose the other two, don't ask. Bad subject.

I gave her a ring as well. Nothing much but she seemed to like it. We are going out this weekend to do the real celebrating. :)

ohh Football practice. Now there is a subject I could talk on night on. If you need any tips, I watch about 5 matches a week. :D

Time Traveller said...

Arrr she made a replica of your cake :) thats sweet :) so what are you doing this weekend? or do I need to watch this space.

The camera - I just thought it might be big enough for you. :)

Darren: my son is in an under 8 league. Since he is seven he has been a bit of a star this year.

Soccer (football) is big in our area.

A few tips would be nice:

First how do you get the girls to stop fixing their hair and pay attention to where the ball is?

and how do you keep the boys from tackling each other, even when the ball is on the other side of the field?

and we have one kid who lays down and looks at the sky when he's playing defense, what to do?

oh, and our best player falls to the ground before every kick. He thinks it's cool.

:D

Spiller turned me on to the Liverpool team, is that going to be a problem? ;)

20 Something: We just have dinner out planned. There is no one to watch the kids at this point so... so that's all we're going to do. That might change. If anything of interest happens I'll blog it. :)

Dunno ask Ronaldo.

Darren supports Manu U - I think this is going to be a minor problem :|

I guess its not too bad - at least you don't support Chelsea.

Good reply 20 Something.

Get them all hair bands and show them video's of David Beckham when he had long hair. Spanish league has a few stars that could help in this department too.

and how do you keep the boys from tackling each other, even when the ball is on the other side of the field?

In practice get them to spread out and play 3 touch football. Only allowed touch the ball 3 times. Ideally you want 1 and 2 touch but they are only kids.

Also play a game of keep away. Get a big circle and put the 2 fastest/best players in the middle starting off. whoever gets the ball swaps with the lad that lost it.

Its a good start.

and we have one kid who lays down and looks at the sky when he's playing defense, what to do?

Give the kid a kick in the ass but if that doesn't work set up a long narrow strip, and put 1 attacker with the ball up one end and one defender at the other. The idea is the attacker has to get to the other end of the strip, without going outside with the ball. The defender has to get the ball off him and get the ball up the other end. Swap them around in the groups to keep in interesting.

oh, and our best player falls to the ground before every kick. He thinks it's cool.

Do 2 touch shooting practice. line the lads up one at a time. They kick the ball to you, and you kick the ball out in front of their run. They then shoot at the goal. Should be a triangle shape. After they kick the ball they go get it and then to the back of the line.

Spiller turned me on to the Liverpool team, is that going to be a problem? ;)

You cant support the scum. I wont allow it. Sure they are top of the league at the moment, but they crack at Christmas and stop playing attractive football.

Arsenal are playing absolutely fantastic football at the moment. Fabregas is genius.

Of course being a Man U fan, I would advise you to look at how Alex Ferguson brings on young players. Ryan Giggs for example came through the Man U youth ranks and is still one of the best left wingers in the world. About to break the all time appearances record for United, and is the most decorated footballer in the premiership. Only a few more medals and he will be the most decorated player ever in the UK.

20 Something: Who the hell is Ronaldo?

I would be scared to support Chelsea. Spiller may fly over here and kick my ass. I'm skating on thin ice calling it soccer as it is :|

Darren: While every question I asked is a problem for our team, I was joking that you could help me with a solution but you did manage to throw a few suggestions out there that I can use. Bravo!

I'll keep an eye on Man U this year and see if I get any feelings. Although football (football) has just started here and I'm really into the college games at the moment.

Ronaldo - Well there are 2 Ronaldo's. One is a Fat Brazilian striker, who was top scorer in the World cup once, and one time best player in the world.

http://guidesmedia.ign.com/erik/fatronaldo.jpg

The other, who 20 something is referring to, is a flash young Portuguese winger, who plays for Man U. Voted, player of the year and young player of the year in the Uk last year. Only the 2nd player in history to win both in 1 year. He is fast, with quick feet and very exiting to watch. Tipped to be the best player in the world soon, and currently at the tender age of 21 is considered 2nd in the world behind the Brazilian genius Kaka.

Chanted from the Old Trafford terraces
"He, plays on the left, he plays on the riiight. That boy Ronaldo will make u look shite!"

I know you were joking about the help, but they are all very good exercises to do with the kids. It helps them focus, and there is fun in each activity as there is a goal to it. Its not just running and improving fitness. I take my football serious.

Younger Ronaldo: Nancy boy who plays for Man U.
