That quote is beautiful! It has certainly made me feel better. Artist of the week - Nirvana? When I was a teenager I was Crraaazy about them! I was obssessed with Kurt Cobain - thought he was amazing!! Very talented. He as a great songwriter and guitarist!
You definitely got the definitions right. Help and supervision aren't the same by a long shot...
