On a sad note

For anyone who doesn't know, Southern California is burning. These fires are out of control and have already burned thousands of homes.

Even though I'm on the other side of the country, these fires hit close to home. Unfortunately,
Daughter of night lives in San Diego, California. Last time she posted the fire was within a half mile of her home. She even took a few pictures from her house.

So please say a little prayer for her, her family, the people of California and the brave men and women who risk their lives to fight these fires. Some have already lost everything.

Daughter, please be careful!

Thank you so much!!

We are safe for the time being. The winds have changed, and the firefighters made a lot of headway today. We also have a lot of help from the military and other states, who are making great strides in the air attack.

There is very little containment on any of the fires, but today was a much better day. If these current conditions persist, we should have full containment and maybe even control by the first week of November.

Now that much of the danger in the most populated areas has receded, now we have the looters to deal with. God help me, but I swear sometimes that surreptitious vigilantism is my true calling.

I'm glad to hear you guys are ok. Thanks for letting us know :)

It looks like there are still some rough times ahead for your community. Our thoughts are with you.

As for the looters, I hate them too. Remember, try to drop them in the act ;p
